MOULVIBAZAR: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has said that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is creating traffic congestion with one hundred fifty vehicles in the name of relief distribution among Rohingyas.
He made the comment while speaking at the tri-annual conference of Moulivibazar district unit of Awami League held in the district town on Saturday (October 28).
Obaidul Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, said that Khaleda Zia was absent in Bangladesh for two and half months. Now she is traveling from Dhaka to Chittagong and Chittagong to Cox’s Bazaar, creating traffic contestation all over the places. She could go there by plane, in a flight of forty minutes. Relief distribution could be carried out by airbuses, he added.
“Many important roads are blocked due to her 3-day long journey with a line of vehicles. If she had sympathy for Rohingya people, she could give fuel money to these people by making her journey by plane instead,” he said.
AL president of Moulvibazar district unit and former chief whipe Abdus Shaheed presided over the function, central AL joint general secretary and some other central leaders were present it. Moulvibazar AL general secretary Nesar Ahmed moderated the program.
