Fakhrul blames AL for attack on Khaleda’s motorcade

DHAKA: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has blamed the ruling Awami League for the terrorists’ attack on BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s motorcade in Feni.

In an immediate reaction on Saturday (October 28), the BNP leader, who is now with Khaleda Zia at the motorcade, said that the attack is ‘pre-planned’.

“The AL miscreants attacked on Khaleda Zia’s motorcade in a planned way. The attack is on a peaceful and humanitarian program. It is shameful,” he said.

Referring to the attack on him during a visit to Chittagong, Mirza Fakhrul said that the Awami League doesn’t tolerate the humanitarian activities of others.

Khaleda Zia’s motorcade came under attack in the afternoon after she reached Debipur of Fotehpur area in Feni from Dhaka en route Cox’s Bazar.

The BNP chief left her Gulshan residence for Cox’s Bazar in the morning to see the situation of Rohingyas who have taken shelter at the refugee camps after fleeing widespread violence in Myanmar.

At the time, Mirza Fakhrul told media that the government will hopefully give all-out cooperation during the visit of Khaleda Zia.
