Govt wants media to ‘keep mouth shut’

DHAKA: BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi alleged that the government wants the mass media to keep its mouth shut.

The BNP leader made the remark in a press briefing held at the central office of BNP in Naya Paltan area of the city on Sunday (October 29).

Rizvi said that, “Khaleda Zia’s motorcade was attacked as per government plan. But the ruling Awami League leaders claimed that the attack was carried out by the BNP leaders due to internal conflict of the party.”

Pointing out government’s failure to rule, Rizvi said, “The government could not even protest against Myanmar for ethnic cleansing of Rohingyas, or pose a threat to Myanmar. Rather they went to Myanmar to buy rice.”

Other BNP leaders were present in the press briefing.
