BNP will get legal notice too: Quader

DHAKA: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said BNP will be served with legal notice too in reply to the notice they have sent to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, made the remark while distributing warm clothes among deprived people at a function in Dhaka’s Kamalapur area on Friday (January 12).

He said the legal notice BNP sent to PM is a fake one. For that, they will be served with a real legal notice.

Earlier in a press conference, Prime Minister Hasina made remarks about allegations of money laundering against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and her family members. In response, Khaleda Zia sent a legal notice to PM on December 23.

Quader said PM’s remarks on Khaleda’s money laundering allegations were based on several reports published in national and international news media. They allegations were brought to public by the media and the stories of BNP’s corruption are even better than fairy tale. PM has the courage to tell the truth that caused panic to BNP leaders. They will be served with legal notice soon.

On the Padma Bridge project, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir recently alleged that there is a flaw in the Padma bridge design.

In response, Quader also said that another legal notice will be sent Fakhrul if he can prove his allegation about the bridge.
