DHAKA: BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed on Saturday (January 13) said that the government arranged the fair of corruption in the name of development fair.
The senior leader of the BNP was speaking at a discussion meeting at the National Press Club in the city.
Democratic Movement, a pro-BNP organization, arranged the discussion with its president Shahadat Hossain Selim in the chair. BNP’s central leaders Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu, Abu Naser Mohammad Rahmatullah and Khaleda Yeasmin also spoke it, among others.
Barrister Moudud said that the government has taken different mega projects in a bid to large scale of corruption. They are looting crores of money of the people in the name of development projects. Now they are arranging development fair to show their corruption, he said.
The three-day countrywide ‘Development Fair 2018’ began on Thursday (January). The fair was arranged to highlight the government’s development efforts and achievements.
Barrister Moudud, also a former law minister of the BNP government, expressed his frustration over Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s address to the nation delivered on Friday (January 12).
The BNP leader said that the PM confused the people through her speech. She did not touch the sufferings of the people in her speech.
