DHAKA: BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed has said that his party chief Khaleda Zia would be acquitted if the court delivers verdict neutrally.
Speaking at a public rally in Noakhali on Saturday (January 27), the BNP leader said that the cases filed against the BNP chief is totally false and fabricated. There is no basis of the cases. The state side did not prove Khaleda Zia’s involvement in the graft charges, he said.
The public rally was organized on the premises of Manikpur Madrasa at Companiganj upazila in Noakhali.
Local BNP leader Osman Gani presided over the rally, while president of Kabirhat upazila unit of BNP Abdur Rahim, Kabirhat municipality BNP president Mostafizur Rahman and other local leaders spoke it.
Barrister Moudud said that the trial proceeding of corruption cases against Khaleda Zia is going on just because of political of vengeance. The BNP chief will be acquitted if the court remains neutral, he said.
