‘Govt downfall if Khaleda detained’

DHAKA: BNP standing committee member Goyeshwar Chandra Roy has said that the downfall of the government will be ensured if BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is detained.  

He issued the warning while speaking at a discussion at the National Press Club in the city on Sunday (January 28).

Arafat Rahman Koko Jubo o Kyira Sangsad arranged the discussion to mark the third death anniversary of Khaleda Zia’s younger son Arafat Rahman Koko.

BNP chairperson’s adviser Abdus Salam, the party’s central leader and Swadinata Forum president Abu Naser Mohammad Rahmatullah also spoke it, among others, with president of the organization Md Alamgir Hossain Labu in the chair.   

Goyeshwar Chandra said that the government wants to detain Khaleda Zia. “If she is detained, we won’t sit idle. We will forge tougher movement which will ensure downfall of the government,” he said.
