Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Ramna Division Deputy Commissioner (DC) Maruf Hossain Sardar said that the two cases were filed with Shahbagh Police Station early Wednesday (January 31).
“Shahbagh Police Station Sub-Inspectors (SI) Rohidul Islam and Chompok, as plaintiffs, filed the two cases”, said Maruf.
As many as 700-800 unnamed people were accused in the cases, apart from 69 named others, he added.
On Tuesday (January 30), BNP activists gathered before the High Court area and allegedly snatched two of their fellows from a prison van, after carrying out an attack on the police and vandalizing the vehicle on the road before the High Court.
At that time, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was on way to her Gulshan home after appearing before a special court at Dhaka’s Bakshibazar in Zia Charitable Trust corruption case.
BNP Standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy was also detained at the night on charge of instructing the attack, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia.
