DHAKA: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir claimed that the people who attacked police Tuesday are not BNP men but infiltrators. 

He made the claim at a press conference in BNP’s Naya Paltan central office on Wednesday (January 31).

The BNP leader said “Even we couldn’t identify those who carried out the attack on a police members and prison van in front of High Court yesterday. I believe outsiders committed the occurrence.”

Fakhrul also alleged that members of Detective Branch of Police have picked up BNP national standing committee member and former minister Gayeshwar Chandra Roy around 10:00pm on Tuesday (Jan 30).

Moreover, around 70 senior BNP leaders and activists were detained by police, he alleged.
