DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has left Dhaka for Sylhet to visit the shrines of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) and Hazrat Shah Paran (RA).
She along with her party’s senior leaders left her Gulshan residence at about 9:15 on Monday (February 05).
BNP standing committee members Barrister Jamir Uddin Sirker and Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, and senior other leaders of the party are accompanying the BNP chief. However, some senior leaders have already reached Sylhet.
Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said that their party chief is going to Sylhet only to offer prayers at mazars of two great saints, not for election campaigning.
Khaleda Zia is going to Sylhet before the verdict on her graft case which is scheduled to be delivered on February 08.
Last night, the BNP chief sat with the party's standing committee members her Gulshan political office to chalk out its future course of action.
