DHAKA: The opposition BNP has announced several programs cantering its Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s impending verdict in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case. However, in response, the ruling Awami League did not declare any confrontational political programs.
When asked, AL general secretary Obaidul Quader said, “We haven’t announced any counter programs because we don’t believe in conflicting political activities.”
Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, made the remark after submitting the nomination paper of presidential candidate Abdul Hamid to Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda at EC office in Dhaka on Monday (February 5).
Earlier, a Dhaka court has fixed February 8 to deliver it verdict in Zia Orphanage Trust case filed against BNP Chief Khaleda Zia and others. BNP announced programs ahead of the verdict.
